re: news today that the US Postal Service is stopping mail delivery on Saturdays starting in August.
Don’t worry everyone, we still won’t have home mail delivery after this goes into effect!
I guess people were in an uproar in town here whether or not our “no mail delivery” would still count?
When I mention to “out of towners” we have to go get the mail, the “Mayberry RFD” comparisons ensue…. and I have to embarassingly remind them that the RFD actually stands for “rural free delivery”, so we don’t even have that!
I wanted to ask: do we really still need to not have mail delivery here in the point?
legend has it we opted out to save on “taxes” way back when… and rumor has it NOW, that that is no longer a factor, that we are choosing not to have delivery…
