Donna to The Rescue… Again

Story by Helen Stringer.

20130624-065026.jpg

On Saturday June 22, 2013, Donna Walsh again came to the rescue of two girls.

This time the lifeguards were on duty but he stood behind Donna telling them to ride the wave in.

As the waves were pulling toward the jetty this was not the best advice.

He stood at the edge of the water holding a flotation device and wearing a sweatshirt, while Donna went in and pulled the girls to safety.

I know its breezy, but when I was a lifeguard years ago you could not have sweatshirts on because can’t rescue in them. (You) can’t lose eye contact or take second to pull one over your head.

Unbelievable that the guard stood there while Donna went in!

The water and currents may be very different this year; all must be on alert, but the guards on duty should be going in the water.

Thank God Donna is so vigilant.

Someone pointed out these “vote no” / petition flyers and were available at the post office.

What do you think?

Has anyone called the number?

I invite both pro and con comments.

Thanks to Ted, Anthony and others… feel free to drop me a line, so we can recognize those who helped.  If you have any pictures to share, just drop me an email at makingmypointNY at gmail and / or let me know where you may have posted them!

It was great to work with all of you. We really accomplished so much and it was great to see everyone come together to help get them back up and running.

The good news is we put a major dent in the interior work to be done, and also if you didnt get a chance to help… they still need you!

There is still so much that remains to do there, so feel free to pitch in!

Give Colleen a call or email her at LIToyCenter@Gmail.com to see when the next work day will be.

you can also contact them on facebook at Long Island Toy Lending Center For Children With Disabilities

Ill keep you posted, too. Hopefully, I’ll see you next time!
