Letter: Resident Input on PLCA mailing and Park Project

Dear Civic Board

Congrats on the newest 4C Newsletter with POBox delivery. Wow- indeed this newest project underscores a primary civic project:caring for children and beautifying our community. I note the invite to private donors. Someone on the Civic should contact our past resident Board member, Sara Moran. She found a way to liason with TOH paying and both sides having a job well done.

For many terms Sara on the Board expedited the TOH budget for local improvements. Note the extensive brick design at the PO and even street crossing clarity. I’m sure utilizing her expertise will clarify what TOH may do to help this project.

Sincerely,

Claire Curtin

Point Lookout Park Project proposal #2

Point Lookout Park Project proposal #2

The Point Lookout Park Project was formed to engage in public projects in and around the parks and public spaces of Point Lookout.

The new local group seeks privately-funded solutions to update our public spaces. I met with Robin Amato, Matthew Brennan, and Melissa Emery last week where they introduced the project.

Check out their website: Point Lookout Park Project

First up on their agenda is a revitalization of the playground at the park. In its initial planning phase now is a long over due update. The park was last refurbished sometime in the early 1990s and other than a private donation made in 2002 of new equipment, has not had any work done otherwise.

The new work would also bring the playground up to safety and Americans with Disability Act requirements.

Shown here are renderings of two different plans that could be enacted.

The group seeks input and wants to work with the community to make this happen. Give them your input, click here to take their survey.
