“Alternate Depths” taken November 6, 2013 at Point Lookout Second Beach, Point Lookout, NY with iPhone5.
I usually like to keep it real, or at lest close. I was playing with the edit on this shot and i just like it this far done. Don’t get me wrong… I’ve been playing with the edit on this for 5 months now. I’ve returned to it so many times, it’s just time for a freaky edit. It reminds me of some kind of 70’s velvet black light poster, glow already included.

photobombed (lol) but the rare view of this section of beach and the sky lit up, and the unique copper and blue colors make this one stand out for me.
“Sand Alight” Taken November 8, 2013 at Second Beach, Point Lookout NY with iPhone5.
Caught right at the moment it fell below the horizon, somehow the camera lens makes up for the missing half of the sun, which lights up the jetty rocks and causes the blown sand to have that unique purple glow as it whips across the beach in the 25 mph winds.
“Flying Red Fuzz” Taken October 22, 2013 at Civic Beach, Point Lookout NY with iPhone5.
Great night at the beach, I met John, John and Fran who were sitting on the jetty just taking the sunset in. The shot of their silhouettes against this sunset that I posted on Instagram is a favorite, too.

That red haze (center top) cloud, someone told me is called a “sun pillar”, was at such a different distance forward from the rest. It felt so close that your eyes couldn’t adjust focus on it, like you could reach up and touch it.

I find it amazing how each of these different sunsets have their own distinct look and personality to me. The combination of the backlit clouds, the colors, the glowing sand with that ‘blurred’ brush stroke look, feels like a watercolor painting to me, inspiring the title.
At first, I worried about the Lido Towers and Long Beach in the back of so many of my pics. Ive come to realize, it’s so much better to help show where the picture was taken. It helps me (and hopefully you, too) feel like you are there.
